Katla and Rui is a most used fish in West Bengal in daily meal.Bengali people never think about any special occasion without "Katla/Rui macher kalia".here i'm sharing that authintic recipe which all of bengali people love.It is cooked in a very rich way.The curry should be very spicy.


Katla fish, Marinated with salt and turmeric
Onion - 2 chopped
Tomato - 1 chopped
Ginger paste - 2 tbsp
Bay leaves & dry red chilli
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Hot red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
Cumin powder - 1 tbsp
Coriender powder - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste
Kasuri methi 2 tbsp
Mustard oil -4 to 5 tbsp
Hot water
