Chandidas is a 1932 Bangla social drama film directed by Debaki Bose. The film was produced by New Theatres, Calcutta and was their first big success. The story revolves around the 15th century poet-saint #Chandidas who acts out against the deep-rooted bigotry against caste and the hypocrisy of society while he falls in love with a washer woman named Rami.
In this #romantic song it is stated by Rami that: hey friend, what should I say; I fall in love at this tender age and can’t remain at home. I desire you and will die into the water; after death I will become Krishna and will made you as Radha. Falling in love, I will leave the home and will stay under the Kadam tree. I will play flute while you will go to bring water. Listening the flute hey simple lady, you will be amazed. Chandidas expresses that love is very painful. This is a beautiful #love song of old Bengal.
